It's Been A While

It's been a while since we posted. I guess after the holidays life just slowed down. We have been having a lot of fun outside with the awesome weather we have been having and in the new playroom (post coming soon). Here's what we have been up to:

Asher can now go down the slide all by himself!

Happy New Year

Well, it seems like so many people have listed their top ten events or happenings of the year so I thought I would follow suit. Fortunately for me our top ten is really just one:

Asher!!

We love having Asher and love all the family he brought to visit us for his shower, his blessing, and first Christmas and all the adventures we've had with him. We can't wait for another year!!

AZ Grandparents

We were lucky to have my mom and dad come to visit us the day after Christmas. Asher loved having more people to push him around the house in his car and play with him and we just loved having them here. We had lots of fun going to the museum, eating at Lupe Tortillas, The Cheesecake Factory, visiting Old Towne Spring, eating fried twinkies (yes that sounds disgusting, but let me tell you it was so good and I don't even like twinkies!!), watching football, shopping and just hanging out. It was sad to see them go. Asher kept looking around his car seat to find Grandma in the back on the way home from dropping them at the airport. It was soo sad. We can't wait for them to come again!!

Merry Christmas!!

We had a fabulous Christmas this year. Christmas Eve we had a yummy chili dinner with the Petersens and Reed grandparents and then Ryan, Asher, grandparents, and I drove to Pecan Grove to look at lights. It was a lot of fun and hopefully will be part of our tradition. Christmas morning we followed the Ashe tradition and read the Christmas story before going out and seeing what Santa had left. Asher had lots of fun opening his gifts. Santa must of thought he was extra good this year. He loved all his new toys, but his favorite was from Ryan and I: a new car! He didn't want to open up any of his presents once he saw the car so we had to put it behind the couch to open Santa's gifts. Ryan tries to sneak him by the playroom so he can't see it so he doesn't have to push him around. Once he's in he doesn't want to get out! After we opened gifts we headed to the Petersen's for a wonderful breakfast. Then we had Christmas dinner over at our house later in the day. Ryan made a really great pork tenderloin (though he greatly overestimated and ended up with 6 tenderloins for 10 people!) and we had yummy sides to go with it. We had so much fun Christmas day that we forgot to have Asher open his stocking until it was time for bed. Luckily, Santa left some bath toys that he could play with before his nightly bath. We are so grateful for the birth of the Savior and the opportunity we had to celebrate this wonderful holiday with family and friends.

Practice Run

Ryan wanted to get Asher a helmet for Christmas so he could put Asher in the bike trailer. So, we wrapped it up and had Asher open it before Christmas - just to get the hang of opening presents. Turns out the helmet is still a little too heavy and Asher didn't really enjoy the ride. Ryan will have to wait a little longer before he goes for any more rides.

He might look happy, but he really wasn't and yes he tried to take the helmet off the entire ride!

You Better Not Cry...

Saturday we met the Peterson's at La Centerra to see Santa. You'll have to decide who the babies really are:

Christmas Party

I can finally post again now that all the decorations are up, cards have been sent out, goodies have been delivered, gifts bought, and the house looks somewhat decent!! Of course there are a few more things to do and Christmas dinner to plan, but I love this time of year even with all the things to do. Saturday we had our ward party and it was Asher's first time to see Santa. He didn't cry, but he was definitely looking him over. Hopefully, the sun will come out on Saturday and we can head over to La Centerra to see Santa one more time. Here are a few cute pictures from the party.
