It only took eight days of crying at swim lessons, but Asher now loves to swim! He asks everyday to go to the water. He has learned to kick and then float on his back for air. It is quite impressive how fast they can learn. You can see in the videos what a difference 3 weeks makes. He has his clothes on in the second video. They do a swim test with shoes and clothes on to make sure they turn over and float. He knows the routine and did not want to go in with his shoes on so I just had to throw him in. He screamed "no shoes water" for about 5 minutes even after letting him take them off, but he did float on his back so that is all that matters. We are so proud of him and he can't wait to show his "bampa" in Arizona.

Father/Son Campout
Ryan was excited to be able to take Asher on his first Father/Son campout. They had so much fun and Asher loved wandering in the trees and sleeping (he did sleep a few hours) in the tent. Asher's friend Jared also came and they had lots of fun together. I am so glad that Ryan loves to do these things with his little boy! I am sure there will be a lot more campouts in their future.

Mother's Day
I had a great Mother's Day! Ryan made us a yummy breakfast with french toast casserole, fruit and lemon blueberry muffins. He was also nice enough to do Senior sharing time for me since we have the greatest Bishop. During the third hour of church all the women (yes the men sub all the classes) get to meet in the overflow and he gives a short little talk and then we are served brunch by the High Priests. Yes, every ward should do this. Then we went over to the Peterson's for dinner. Bethany made super yummy BLT's, salad and dessert. I love being a mom and I am so grateful that I have Asher and Atley.

Food
We decided that Atley had been eyeing all of us eating long enough and started her on some food a few weeks ago. She didn't care too much for the rice cereal so we just moved on. She LOVES bananas and most of what she has eaten so far - carrots, sweet potatoes, butternut squash and apples. I can't believe she is getting so big, so fast! She is just the cutest little girl in the world! You can see in the pictures how much she liked the rice cereal and all she wanted to do was chew the spoon!

2 Year Pictures
So, a few weeks ago we decided to take Asher down to old town Katy and take some pictures of him for his second birthday. Asher could not have been more excited. It was his two favorite things in one - a "red choo". We were able to get a few cute pictures and he still asks to go see the red choo almost everyday! We sure love this boy!

Texas Boy
Ryan had some leftover root beer that wasn't used on their campout last weekend so we decided we would have rootbeer floats for FHE. So, the kids and I stopped by Target on Monday to get the ice cream. I figured I would get whatever was on sale since it was just for floats. Well, I went to grab the off brand ice cream and Asher tells me "no - that." I asked him again what he said and once again he says "no -that" and points to the door on the far side of me. Yes, he only wanted me to buy Blue Bell! I think I can count the number of times on one hand that we have bought ice cream since he was born, but he wasn't about to buy anything except Blue Bell! Ryan was so proud!
