And the Winner Is...

Well, the winner of the due date game was Kari! She guessed the exact date for Asher's birth. Khendra also wins a prize for the closest guess for weight and height. Who knew he would be such a chunk!! I'll post a picture of your prizes soon!!

Eating, Pooping, and Sleeping

When you have so much to do you get a little worn out
This morning I was pretty tired when Asher woke up around 4 to eat so I figured he could wait until 5 to get his diaper changed by his dad who would be getting ready for work. Ryan went to change his diaper and I guess Asher wasn't quite ready. So, he let Ryan know by pooing and peeing all over his hand. All I could do was laugh as Ryan was trying to tell me what was happening. I guess I shouldn't of laughed so hard since Asher spit up all over me this morning. So, I guess we're even. Although I'll take spit up over poo any day.

It Continues...

Monday we had to go back to the doctor for another check-up and then get his blood tested. Unfortunately, his jaundice levels were back up so we had to take him again yesterday for another blood test. We took him around 11am and the lady had to prick him twice to take the blood. Well, a few hours later the lab called and said they couldn't read the blood because it wasn't taken fast enough. Needless to say we were not happy with that tech. We had to take him back and have another tech take the blood. His levels haven't gone up, but have stayed the same so we have to take him again tomorrow for another test. I sure hope it is the last time he has to be pricked - I can't stand it - Ryan has to take him back and hold him.

Here are a few pictures from the last few days

He's Home

We are so excited - Asher was able to come home with us this afternoon. He had a busy day webcaming with his Grandma and Grandpa Ashe, Monya, Steve and the kids, and Carrie, Shawn and their kids (even if he was sleeping in his swing the entire time!). We'll update again soon with all his firsts.

Maybe tomorrow...

Asher has developed some jaundice issues so he won't be able to come home with us today. We can stay until midnight to have Brianna feed him while he is on a billiblanket, but otherwise he has to stay under the lights. We'll hopefully be able to take him home tomorrow. We'll update with his picture soon.

He's here!

Asher arrived on Wednesday April 15 at 11:51 am. 8lb 11oz. 20.5 in. The nurse told us he is big cause he was born in Texas.

Here are some pictures of him.

Mom and baby are doing fine.

Ready or Not...

We are headed to the hospital tonight to be induced. The doctor won't be starting the pitocin until tomorrow morning so hopefully he'll be born sometime tomorrow. Wish us luck!

Happy Easter

Hope you are all having a great Easter Sunday! Here is Ryan finding his easter basket this morning before church. He thought there was just a few treats that we bought last night at the grocery store, but was excited when he found a new Astros shirt in his basket as well.

On the baby front - the hospital was booked on Wednesday night so they've bumped me up to Tuesday night unless an opening becomes available. So, I have an appointment Tuesday morning and will let everyone know the definite plans!

Drumroll...

We had a doctor's appointment this morning. I told Ryan going in that I was sure nothing had changed since last week and I was right. So, we are left to wait until next Wednesday. I have another appointment next Wednesday, if I haven't gone into labor on my own, and are scheduled to go to the hospital that night to start the induction! Right now I am thinking he isn't coming on his own this week, but we'll let you know if anything changes.

Antiques, Bluebonnets, and Baby Update

Friday we had a doctor's appointment. Since I haven't had any real progress the doctor decided at our appointment next Thursday we'll decide on an induction date a few days after my due date. So, check for the update!

Saturday we headed up to Round Top to go to an antique show. I found exactly what I was looking for and more. I have been looking for a pie safe and found one from the 1800's. I also found a dry sink to put in our entryway. Now we're finally even from Ryan's road bike purchase! Ryan did double check that I wasn't going to turn into my mom or Aunt Brigit before we decided to get both - but this way he didn't have to come to another antique show. I had a lot of people ask me when I was due and couldn't believe I was out at this huge show 10 days before.

The price for my new antiques!

After the antique show we walked around Round Top and luckily turned down the wrong road to find an awesome place for bluebonnet pictures. You can see how huge I really am and how high he is. We got to use our new camera and tripod - Ryan loved figuring it all out. We had tons of fun and Ryan's hoping my mom wants to come for the show next year!

Martindale

Last weekend we met Brandon, Bethany and the kids up in Martindale. We had lots of fun - especially Ryan who got to go kayaking and road biking (two things he added to his before Asher to do list) with Brandon. Ryan was the only one to try out the rope swing - since he had his wetsuit. It looked like lots of fun. We also spent Saturday in Gruene which I love. I found some tulip candle holders that look perfect on our dining room table. We also had a fire and made s'mores Saturday night and just enjoyed being away for the weekend - thanks for inviting us.

We saw this sky diving place last time we went to San Marcos and had to get a picture this time - would you want to sky dive where they use this??
