Stephen F. Austin Park
We went on our first adventure to a Texas State Park on Saturday. Asher was really good and slept the whole time even though it was quite a bumpy trail. We just did a short 40 minute loop since it was so buggy, but we had a good time. There was a deer and its fawn on the beginning of the trail. Look closely at the second picture. We also stopped for shaved ices on the way home - a perfect way to start the summer.

Happy Anniversary?!!
I think most women with children can relate to the fact that I usually know what day it is, but not the date. So, this morning when I got up and came out to the kitchen there were flowers and a card waiting for me. Tuesdays are very long with Ryan gone almost all day with work, scouts, and basketball not to mention Asher was super cranky yesterday so, I figured Ryan left me a little note. When I opened the card I realized it was for our anniversary - I had completely forgotten. Not only that but when I opened the fridge to eat breakfast there were homemade chocolate covered strawberries - yum! Ryan also arranged for a baby sitter if I want to go out to eat tonight. What a great hubby! Since I only leave the house to go to the gym I of course didn't get Ryan anything so this blog post will have to do.
Ryan - I can hardly believe it has been five years. It has definitely been fun and I am sure there will be lots more fun memories to come! Thanks for all you do - I love you!
Tulips and Chocolate - two of my favorite things!

Don't Let Daddy Dress You
Sunday we had a small cool front come through. Ryan decided he was going to take Asher on a walk so I told him to put something else on him than just his little outfit. I laughed so hard when he brought him out looking like this. I guess putting on socks is easier than finding him some pants. I am sure he was warm on his walk, but I don't think I'll be letting Ryan dress him for going anywhere else!

One Month Old
We can hardly believe that Asher was born 4 weeks ago today. He has definitely changed our lives in just those few weeks. Ryan was trying to correct me tonight that it hasn't been quite one month, but I agree with him when he said "it has been the best four weeks!" We had to wait a long time for Asher to come and are so glad that he came to our family. He was definitely worth the wait. When my mom was here she kept referring to him as the little prince and I agree he was destined to be a first child as he only naps if he is being held, likes his diaper changed right away, can scream with the best of them and is getting close to having more clothes than his dad. Ryan and I are so grateful for just the short time he has been with us and can't wait to continue to watch him grow!!

Week In Review
Last week we were so lucky to have Grandma and Grandpa Ashe come visit. Ryan and I are so grateful for all that they did for us - cooking dinner (and getting Lupe's takeout - one of the best), doing dishes, cleaning the house, etc. We were so sad to have them go! Asher also loved having them here to go on walks, to sleep in their arms (although Grandma thought her arm might fall off), to sit out back, etc. The best part of the week was taking Asher on his first fishing trip. He was so good until the very end. We stayed just a few minutes too long and he let everyone in the parking lot know it! Here are some pictures from our fishing trip. We can't wait until July when you come again!
