Las Vegas

So, we had a great time while in Vegas this last week. We got there Sunday evening and were able to visit our friends from BYU, Jeremy and Rachel. We had a lot of fun catching up, meeting thier cute little girl Isis and Rachel made us a yummy Sunday dinner too! Monday Ryan had some workshops and meetings so I enjoyed a leisurely day reading and checking out the hotel. When he got back we drove around the strip a little and grabbed a few things - a new book since I had finished the one from Sunday and some goodies for our hotel room. We also went to a conference reception that night at Tao night club at the Venetian. We didn't stay long, but had fun strolling the shops at the Venetian and watching the Pirate show at Treasure Island (we forgot the camera that night). Tuesday Ryan didn't have too many workshops so we decided to do a little shopping. I got an awesome deal on a new purse - thanks to my good friend directing me to an awesome outlet mall. We had In-n-Out for lunch at Ryan's request and then visited the hotel Paris for a yummy pastry. We had an amazing key lime tart with raspberries and a chocolate croissant from Lenotre (a real bakery from Paris). Wednesday Ryan's afternoon was pretty empty as well so we visited the MGM Grand to see the lions, but it was closed due to some cracked glass. So, we headed over to M&M world. Did you know there are 21 colors of M&Ms? I was a little disappointed since they had all the varieites except the mint ones that I love. We did see the little 3D movie and took some pictures. We also went to Mandalay Bay and visited the Shark Reef. This was really interesting. We carried around a listening device that tells you all about the animals. We really enjoyed learning about some of these animals (though everything I was surprised at Ryan said he already knew - too much National Geographic channel) and touching some stingrays. That night we attended an awards dinner and gala. It was a great vacation! Enjoy the pics!

Triathlon

This weekend Ryan did his first triathalon at Canyon Lake. Besides finding a not so up to par hotel after deciding the one we had booked was too far, we had a great time. Ryan did great and finished in 2:54:09. He did a mile swim, 26 mile bike ride, and 6 mile run - he is already planning for the next one! Here are some great shots of him from the race.

Boy or Girl

So, we are hoping to find out if we are having a boy or girl soon so we've put up a poll on our sidebar to see what everyone thinks!

And it seems like everyone would be interested to know that Ryan is getting his haircut today! Saturday is his first triathlon so we'll post how it goes!

Pumpkin Patch

Saturday we went to Dewberry Farms with the Petersons.

Some advice if you are considering going:

1. Buy your tickets in advance - we waited in line for 30 min.
2. Bring a stroller for your 5 month old baby.
3. Eat a turkey leg - see picture of Ryan in Pumpkin Patch.
4. Beware of the giant goat - he beats up the little goats for food, literally (picture to come later).

We had lot's of fun, thanks for going with us. Here are some pictures.

Ryan was going so fast in the hamster wheel that he scared the kids waiting in line to go next!

See the turkey leg?

Our new pumpkin from the patch - it looks great by the front door!

The Inevitable

Well, I guess it was inevitable that we start a blog. It has been so nice for us to get to read everyone else's without doing any work on our end. Our lives aren't too exciting though so don't set your expectations too high!
