Deja Vu

Okay so Saturday we were out Christmas shopping for the Angel tree at church. We got the two things we needed and headed for Babies 'r Us. I had found a rocker and ottoman the day before and the sales person said to come back the next day for an even better deal. Well, we got the sales slip and took it up to the register. We got an awesome deal - almost 70% off. We were really excited because we never get such awesome deals so we put it in the truck and started on our way home. As we were going down Mason Rd Ryan yells “holy crap the box just flew out of the truck!” and stops in the middle of the road. The wind had just picked it up and thrown the whole thing out of the truck. Luckily no one was behind us and we get it put back in the truck and drove a little ways down and stopped to tie it down. All I could say was "it's broken, I cannot believe that you didn't tie it down. I know it its broken" over and over again. Ryan tried to remind me it was all packed up, but I don't think he really thought he could calm down the crazy pregnant lady. As we drove the rest of the way home (avoiding any main roads) all I could think of was when my dad put a brand new fridge in the back of the truck to bring home and of course it wasn't tied down right and fell right over. Luckily the fridge worked when he got it home, but it had a huge dent in it to remind my mom what he had done. So, I figured the rocker would have some major flaw to remind me it had flown out of the truck. We had to take it out of the box to get it in the door, but to our surprise it was perfectly fine. I don't think Ryan will be putting anything in the truck without tying it down again!! Here is our new rocker:

You forgot to the part where I said "Dave, I think the fridge is going to fall". And he said, "No, it won't". We had the same conversation about 3 times. So off we go without it tied down - and, what do you know, if fell over!!! Luckily, the dent was in the back of it! I guess it could have been worse. It could have fallen out of the truck like the rocker! You are soooo lucky!

Oh, one more thing. Are you kidding? You and Ryan always find the best deals!! I've never seen two people get better bargains than you two.

I love your story, Patti! And I LOVE the rocker! Great deal!

I actually saw the same thing happen, but it wasn't a rocker. Some people had put their kids in a cardboard box and were flying down the freeway when the box flew out of the truck and it was struck by another car. They weren't as lucky as Brianna's rocker. They were pretty broken, but we fixed them up. The parents sure learned their lesson. I'm sure Ryan (and Dave) have as well.
