Cardboard Slip 'n Slide

So, our friends the Hudsons came over on Sunday night with their two boys. I had Ryan leaveout the cardboard boxes from our purchase on Saturday (this is a post in itself) for my visiting teachers' kids to play with this week. Well, it was a good thing we had them out because Ryan and Sam had the kids Isaac and Beckham totally wound up and crazy the entire time they were here. They had a great time making forts, slip 'n sliding down the entry way, and making slides. Taryn and I had a great time too since we got to talk while the boys were boys. What a great way to spend a Sunday night!

Fun, Fun, Fun

So, this week just flew by. On Tuesday one of my co-workers offered me two tickets to the Rockets game. So, of course I took them and we had a great time at the game. Surf started kicking right when we walked into the arena, so, despite Brianna's disbelief, we know he is a Rockest fan. Rockets won.

On Thursday we went to a work event. It was a dinner accompanied by Cirque de Soleil performances. The performers basically swing around on bars and ropes like monkeys. There was also a contortionist that did stuff you would not believe. Here are some pictures of the performers.

Christmas Decorations

Well, we finally have all our Christmas decorations up. It took us almost a week to get them all put up with everything else we had to get done. With our house all decorated, Christmas music playing all the time, and the cooler weather it is starting to really feel like Christmas. I am excited to enjoy this time of year, especially since I finished the Christmas cards and will be sending them out this week, have all of my shopping done, and the list of treats I am going to make ready for next Sunday. Hope you are all getting in the spirit too!
Our entry way

Our new stocking stand and the advent calendar and magnet board I made for this year

Our tree - we were excited that it looked so good since we bought it after Christmas last year and didn't know exactly what it would look like all lit up

The outstide of our house - Ryan did such a good job getting these up (probably since it was the third house he put lights up on this year)

Thanksgiving Vacation

I think I am finally getting caught up from being in Arizona for most of November! Not only was Kason's wedding great and the Thanksgiving festivities amazing (Khendra listed them all so read her last entry to get the whole fill), but I got to spend a ton of time with my whole fam especially all my nieces and nephews. We did crafts, went out to eat, went to Pump it Up, and the list goes on. I posted some cute pictures from my trip. Ryan and I can't wait for next year!!

It's Official

Well, it's official - we are having a baby boy! Good thing since Ryan has started calling the baby "Surf" since he was sure Bethany was right. The ultrasound tech couldn't get a good shot of his face since he wouldn't stop moving, but here is a cute picture of his little foot and the picture showing its a boy - you don't even need the little caption!

Also, we had a ton of fun in Arizona, but with putting up our Christmas decorations and getting back to normal I'll post the pics in a few days.

Today is my dad's birthday - HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD. Hope you like your new shoes!

Body Worlds

This week Ryan decided we needed a date night on Friday. Usually I have to come up with all the ideas, but he actually planned everything. First we went to the Body Worlds exhibit at the Museum of Natural Science. I have wanted to see this since we were in Arizona. It was amazing! I was surprised Ryan was up for going since he usually doesn't do well with these kinds of things, but once he got inside the exhibit he realized it wasn't what he was imagining (organs in glass jars) and really enjoyed it. I would suggest it to anyone that has the chance to see it; it's educational and interesting. Then we went to our favorite Italian restaurant Maggiano's. We hadn't been in quite a while so it was fabulous! It was a great way to spend our Friday.
